Kochi ( Kerala [India], April 1 (ANI): The Kerala The High Court denied the request to halt the screening of the movie 'L2' on Tuesday. Empuraan while listening to the plea of the former BJP Thrissur district committee member Vijeesh Vettam .
The BJP has imposed disciplinary measures on Vettam, following his petition to the High Court regarding the film directed by Prithviraj and starring actor Mohanlal, as stated in an official statement. BJP media cell said.
"Former BJP Thrissur district committee member Vijeesh Vettam He has been expelled from the party. His primary membership has been revoked. Kerala The High Court has declined to impose a stay on the film's screenings. According to the statement, the petition claims that the movie encourages anti-national sentiments and fosters religious hostility.
The petition cites the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Film Certification Authority, and the team Empuraan "and the state police chief became figures for the opposition parties," the statement further noted.
Vettam, however, stated that he accepts the party's decision and clarified that his decision to approach the court was personal and that he would continue with legal proceedings against the film.
According to the BJP Thrissur district committee member, the film has an agenda of communal polarization and financial gain", which forces people like him, who intervene at the grassroots level, to respond. Despite the disciplinary action, Vettam affirmed that he would remain with the party.
