Recently, leaders from the Erongo Region and South Africa’s Western Cape Province convened in Swakopmund to exchange insights and measure progress across various sectors of regional development.
This would conclude with the signing of an accord focused on fostering partnerships in trade and economic growth, cultural and sports exchanges, along with enhancing capabilities.
The Western Cape Minister of Agriculture, Economic Development, and Tourism, Hon Ivan Meyer, stated that his team is eager to gain insights into Namibia's achievements regarding Green Hydrogen.
I would like to extend my congratulations to the Green Hydrogen Commission for their efforts in this area as well as their contributions at the Office of the President. It makes me wonder—what specifically will draw me back to the Erongo Region?
"There are three initiatives: the HyIron project, the Daures initiative, and the Hyphen endeavor. I've come across some intriguing information that has piqued my interest greatly. Given the current global situation and our urgent need for energy solutions, we'll be developing an execution strategy," stated Meyer.
The Erongo Governor, Hon. Neville Andre-Itope said that the twinning agreement will serve as an opportunity for collaboration to enhance both regions.
This pact between twin entities goes beyond being merely a written document; it’s a pledge to our communities that we are dedicated to collaborating in order to generate opportunities, encourage creativity, and enhance the overall quality of life.
"It serves as proof of what can be accomplished when areas unite under a unified perspective and collective goals. Moving ahead, I am certain that this collaboration will bring about significant advantages for all involved territories and set an example for continental partnerships," stated Itope.
The deal will be completed within the coming three months.
