Nairobi - Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s comments regarding the likelihood of President William Ruto securing victory in the 2027 elections have sparked varied responses from different quarters.
On March 29th, Mudavadi stated that it might be challenging for Generation Z and the opposition to overcome Ruto in 2027.
Mudavadi mentioned that he has had a lengthy career in politics and believes, based on his assessment, that Ruto will have a smooth path to re-election in 2027.
"I've had a lengthy career in politics, and after careful consideration, I must inform you that it will be extremely challenging to defeat William Ruto in 2027," stated Mudavadi.
Nevertheless, Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi retaliated against Mudavadi regarding allegations of his political experience.
Amisi was curious as to why Mudavadi, despite asserting his proficiency in electoral victories, had never managed to secure the presidency.
The vocal ODM legislator criticized Mudavadi, asserting that he has disappointed the Luhya community for numerous years.
"Why have you not used that long experience to become president? You have condemned a whole community to political oblivion. All Kanu boys are going home.Bure, kabisa ! Kenya needs a Renaissance," Amisi stated.
The Secretary General of the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK), Stephen Mutoro, likewise backed the views expressed by the Saboti legislator.
Mutoro harshly criticized the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, asserting that the Mulembe community has no reason to rejoice regarding Mudavadi's extensive political career.
"There is nothing to celebrate in the countless years in politics. It should be the politics in the years that matter. Especially when you were last involved in an elective contest in 2007 - with dismal results. You have made the Mulembe Nation a laughing stock. In Mt Kenya, your boss prepares for weeks and goes with his notebook. In Western, he looks for any major funeral - and flies away - just like he came after speaking a few words in local dialect. Who cursed our permanent ‘leaders’?" Mutoro posed.
