FG to Close Lagos' Independence Bridge for Two Months: International Edition

The federal authorities have declared that the Independence Bridge heading towards Marina will be closed from April 1st onwards for crucial repair and maintenance activities.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, disclosed this information through an official statement released on Monday in Lagos.

She mentioned that the bridge will stay closed until the conclusion of May 2025.

She stated, "The shutdown will impact traffic moving from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku toward Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan via Zone 2."

Kesha recommended that drivers should plan their trips accordingly and utilize detours to bypass traffic jams during the maintenance duration.

She expressed her apologies for any disruption the closure could bring and conveyed gratitude to the public for their comprehension and support while the authorities endeavored to secure the safety and stability of the road system.
