Glo Foundation Expands Food Aid to Additional Communities - International Edition (English)

The Glo Foundation, which serves as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) division of Globacom, has stepped up efforts to combat hunger by expanding its Food Drive Initiative titled "Giving Back Together" into additional disadvantaged areas within Ikota and Ajah, located in Lagos.

The relocation to Ikota, Ajah, where thousands of families received parcels containing food and essential household goods last weekend, was a continuation of the initiative that took place two weeks earlier in Bariga.

The recipients were provided with parcels including rice, garri, spaghetti, noodles, tomato paste, toothbrushes, sardines, salt, cooking oil, bread, and seasoning cubes, which were handed out by the project collaborator, Lagos Food Bank Initiative.

Before distributing the presents, the Chief of Corporate Social Responsibility at Globacom, Jumobi Mofe-Damijo, greeted the beneficiaries, emphasizing the firm's commitment to supporting those less fortunate within the community.

She emphasized that the primary aim of the foundation is to assist the least fortunate individuals throughout the nation, suggesting that additional initiatives are being planned to affect different groups across the country.

"As we've witnessed today, giving brings happiness and brightens the faces of those who receive our support. It also fills us with joy knowing that we can make an impact in people’s lives within this closely connected global community," she stated.

Showing their happiness, the recipients, predominantly females, expressed gratitude towards Globacom.

Christina Itoro, who works as a POS operator, showed happiness with the contents of the package and offered prayers for the organization.

"When I unpacked the box and found what was inside, I felt incredibly thrilled. May God bless the company and its employees," she stated.
