On March 31, Ada: The Muslims of Koluerdo, located within the Sege Constituency, celebrated this year's Eid ul-Fitr with prayer and gratitude ceremonies.

Mallam Iddrisu Bin Umar, the Chief Imam of Koluerdo and for the Islamic School in the area, used the occasion to remind Muslims of the importance of observing Zakat, a religious obligation to donate to the needy.

He highlighted that Zakat holds a crucial position in Islam, as mandated by Prophet Muhammad.

He encouraged Muslims to make sure they carried out acts of charity, particularly following the completion of the 30 days of fasting during the month of Ramadan.

Mallam Umar stated that acts of giving should not be confined solely to those who are less fortunate within society; rather, they should also include servants and employees.

"Zakat is more than just an act of giving; it is a directive from Allah to cleanse our riches and support those who are less fortunate," he stated.

It is crucial that we do not overlook this responsibility, since not paying Zakat can lead to financial repercussions, as mentioned in the Quran.

The Imam additionally mentioned that Eid-ul-Fitr is an occasion for contemplation, thankfulness, and kindness.

He motivated the community members to bolster the sense of unity by aiding each other even after the festive season.

Eid al-Fitr, signaling the conclusion of Ramadan, stands as one of the most important festivities in the Islamic calendar.

This was marked by special prayers, fasting, and charitable deeds performed by all Muslims.
